Dyval wasn't created in a boardroom.
It started on the sidelines of a football pitch.
Our son Jake lives and breathes football. During summer he was training and playing several times a week, often in scorching Australian heat. By half time, not just Jake but almost every player on the field looked exhausted.
As a mum, I wanted to help.
The problem was that I didn't want to give him sports drinks full of artificial colours, flavours and unnecessary ingredients. But I also knew he needed energy and hydration to get through the second half.
So every game became a juggling act.
I'd pack bananas, tomatoes, cucumber and anything else I thought might help without leaving him feeling too full or giving him a stitch. One day I even ran across the pitch at half time with a banana for him... only to be met with a look from the coach that said, "Get off the field!"

There had to be a better way.
Jake looked at me one day and said, "Mum, you've created nutrition products for years. Why don't you make something for me?"
That simple question became the beginning of DYVAL
Over the following months, I worked alongside experienced formulators, nutrition experts and food scientists to create a clean hydration product specifically for young athletes. We wanted something that parents could feel good about giving their kids, and something young athletes would actually enjoy drinking.
Before it ever became a product, Jake was using it in every game.
We used to call it "your special drink" because we hadn't even named it yet. He took it to every training session and every game, and we kept refining the formula until we were happy with how it tasted and how it performed. We then tested it with other young athletes to make sure they loved it too.
That first product became DYVAL Perform.
Today, Jake won't play a game without it, whether it's the middle of summer or the middle of winter.

But Dyval was never meant to stop there.
Talking with Jake, his older brother Kai and so many other young athletes made us realise there was a real gap in the market. Parents wanted cleaner nutrition options. Young athletes wanted products that supported their goals without unnecessary ingredients. And nobody seemed to be building a brand that truly understood both.
So that's exactly what we're doing.
We're creating a range of clean, trusted sports nutrition products designed specifically for young athletes. From hydration to protein and beyond, every product starts with one simple question:
"Would we happily give this to our own kids?"
If the answer isn't yes, we don't make it.
Everything we create is guided by the same philosophy I've followed throughout my career in nutrition. Simple ingredients. Science-backed formulations. Products you can trust.
Because we believe performing at your best isn't about one magic ingredient.
It's about building healthy habits every day.
Nutrition.
Hydration.
Sleep.
Recovery.
Strength.
Mindset.
Confidence.
These are the foundations that help young athletes perform, recover and enjoy the sports they love.
Dyval is here to support that journey.
Whether your child dreams of playing professionally or simply wants to feel stronger, healthier and more confident every time they step onto the field, court or track, we're proud to be part of their team.
At DYVAL, our name isn't just a name.
It represents where we come from, what we believe in, and the mindset we want to encourage in every young athlete who becomes part of the DYVAL community.
The Welsh meaning behind DYVAL
Our family heritage is Welsh, and when we started thinking about creating a sports nutrition brand for young athletes, we wanted the name to have genuine meaning.
That led us to the Welsh word dyfal.
Dyfal is a Welsh word associated with being diligent, persistent, hardworking and persevering. It describes someone who keeps going, continues to put in the work and doesn't give up when things become difficult.

And we couldn't think of a better philosophy for sport.
There is also a well-known Welsh proverb:
"Dyfal donc a dyr y garreg."
It expresses the idea that persistent effort can wear away or break through stone.
In other words, keep going. Keep working. Keep showing up.
Eventually, that consistency makes a difference.
From DYFAL to DYVAL
There's another part of the story behind our name.
In the Welsh language, the letter F is pronounced like the English V.
So the Welsh word DYFAL sounds much closer to DYVAL when spoken.
When creating the brand, we decided to replace the F with a V so that people unfamiliar with Welsh would naturally pronounce the name the way it sounds.
And DYVAL was born.
A modern sports brand with a name grounded in our Welsh heritage and a meaning that represents everything we believe young athletes need to succeed.
Hard Work. Consistency. Never Giving Up.
Sport can be incredible for young people, but it isn't always easy.
There are wins and losses. Great games and terrible games. Selection and rejection. Injuries, setbacks, growth spurts, tough training sessions and days when nothing seems to go right.
Talent matters.
But talent alone isn't enough.
We believe some of the most important qualities a young athlete can develop are hard work, consistency and perseverance.
It's turning up to training when you don't feel like it.
It's practising something again and again when you haven't mastered it yet.
It's working on your weaknesses instead of only doing the things you're already good at.
It's getting back up after disappointment.
It's understanding that progress doesn't always happen quickly.
And most importantly, it's learning to love the process of becoming better.
That is the DYVAL mentality.
From our family to yours, welcome to Dyval.
"I'm incredibly proud of what we're building at Dyval, and I hope our products help your young athlete perform with confidence, fuel their body well and enjoy every moment of their sporting journey."
